Saturday I joined what felt like the entire population of the Utah Valley at the Indian temple in Spanish Fork for Holi. We brought in spring with a cloud of color.
Also, if I had an endless supply of these to munch on I would be the happiest girl ever. Wal-Mart stopped carrying them but I recently rediscovered them at Smith's. It was glorious.
I never want to become boring. I never want to be bored with life. I never want to lose my sense of adventure. Because I think that is one thing in life that makes me perfectly happy, when I'm discovering new things. I'm perfectly happy when I am discovering the streets of a new city or the markets of a town. I am perfectly happy when I am walking through a new field or climbing a new tree. I am perfectly happy when I am discovering a new hobby or discovering more about a person. I am perfectly happy when I am discovering more about the place where I reside and I am perfectly happy when I am discovering new things and people to love.
A day with an adventure is a day worth remembering. Whether it's flying to a new country or taking a trip to 7-11 to visit the creepy-but-hilarious man that works behind the counter, it counts. And that's what makes the mundane parts of life worth enduring. The little adventures that set each day apart from the rest.
This weekend I attended the Hunger Banquet that I've been helping plan for a few months. It was awesome. If you've never been, go tomorrow. Or go next year. But you need to go.
The theme this year was all about human dignity and how no matter what state of living a person is in, they still have dignity. I thought this was a great theme and I've seen it through my travels. People are people. We are all the same, just in different climates and geographical locations.
Here's a few pictures I've taken of people in different places in the world. People amaze me.
